It is flatter than flat where I live. I can do some short 50 meter hills on bridges, etc. But, there is simply nothing like Boston hills for training.
For the rest of the flatlanders out there, how many minutes does Boston add to your marathon time? I generally run low 2:50s and find that Boston adds about 3-4 min.
And, on a related note, do you find that you do better trying to go for an even split or just let the hills beat you up and go slower the second half?
