In the 70's/80's, you could travel Europe and get in races if you were half decent.
I like the 1.5% to 3% difference. So I ran 9:58 for the deuce on cinders. I'll give myself a 2% difference. That's 12 seconds overall or 1.5 seconds per lap. So I'm down to 9:46.
Ah, but that was for 2 miles, so for 3200 I get to knock off 3 more seconds...so I'm down to 9:43!
Now, I could maybe knock off some more time because I only ran the distance once that season, but that would be speculation.
My new PR is 9:43, this is great, setting a new PR decades after I stopped competing.
Seriously I'm glad I broke 10:00 that day, no matter what the track was made of.
