    I am working on the website for Monday and saw that that Sebastian Bayer jumped 28'6.75" today (8.71 meters) to win European gold. His jump is the 2nd longest indoors in history.

    I found video of the jump and it's pretty unreal.

    What is more unreal is that his pb has improved by my calculation by 22+ inches this year alone. The guy didn't even make the German Olympic team.

    Very impressive.

    Undoubtedly in the year 2009, I'm sure people will start the drug accusations, but to me, it's the perfect uplifting story of one not limiting themself.

    I loved his quote, "Right now I cannot tell you how I managed to jump that far”

    Nor did Lynn Davies or Igor Ter-Ovanesyan (sic) or Giovanni Evangelista or Gary Honey, to name a few.

    I have a teory on that "White Man Can't jump" business anyone, as pertains to basketball, which is where the notion usually arises.

    Besides jumping ability, what physical characteristic makes it most easy to dunk?

    His pb was 8.17(26-9)from his nation championship like a month earlier. Then 8.12(26-7.75)in the trials then 8.71(28-7.00)in the final. Thats crazy

    The answer to the question above is handsize. Being able to palm the ball very easily is the key to dunking.

    He made the German Olympic team. He jumped 7,77 m in the qualifying round in Peking.

    Bayer was considered one of our most promising juniors when he had a horrible accident in the final of the European Junior Championship in 2005.

    He tore nearly every ligament and broke most bones in his foot. The doctors considered it a minor miracle, that he started jumping again in 2006.
