miller and morse will both be running indoors
I haven't seen anyone mention his stellar 4:01 mile that See ran indoors during his senior year of highschool. I know there was some catch i'm not thinking about - i think it was in a pro race.

man i was just about post dorian. indoors is wide open this year. i would say the favorites in no order are:
dorian ulrey
aj acosta
garrett heath
elkanah kibet (i think he is 1500m runner)
kyle perry
jake morse & kyle miller (not sure if either texas guy has eligibility)
andrew wheating
no. not even close. acosta won't be top 4 indoors.
plz do us all a favor, never post on here again and go hang yourself with the shoelaces from your running shoes
If Acosta is ready, he'll be up there.
Acosta is currently injured. He does have 1500m championship in his future but not this indoor season. Outdoors he is a more likely suspect.

Your 2008 NCAA list:)
Those are HS prs. the 425 was for sophmore times.
Jeff See never ran 4:01 in HS, indoors or out.
Dorian Ulrey ran 4.09 at the Illinois state meet his senior year with a 1.58 last 800.
I have enjoyed watching Jeff run and generally I think he is as talented as anyone out there. No one has spoken of tactics though. It seems that Jeff is not comfortable running indoors as in both the NCAA indoor races he has not looked comfortable, and if you watch the videotape he steps on the rail several times, bumps into multiple runners on several laps, runs on the outside too much, and does not use the indoor track to his advantage. Not trashing him by any stretch of the imagination but I just think he looks so much more relaxed and in a groove outdoors. I'm not sure how much he races indoors and i think most would agree that learning to run indoors, and using the banks to propel you around the turns is a learned response. I think if he got more comfortable with indoors he could make a run at it.

My bad--I didn't read the original carefully enough. The man to which I was responding said there was no way 24 college athletes ran such-and-such time in 2008 and I was confirming.
I like See and hope he does well. But as of yet there's no reason for me to expect he's anything more than one of many athletes contending for the title.
As far as HS sophomores are concerned, the national record holders are...
800: Mike Granville
Mile: See
2 mile: Eric Hulst
5k: Yong-Sung Leal
See is an overachiever. He's the only one of the four who made All-American (discounting Granville's 4x400 in '99).
After watching See's double at the dual I am not counting him out. (Mile Run (4:06.39) and 3,000 meters (8:11.39) He finished off the last 200 of the 3k with a 26 point a little over an hour after his mile victory. Very impressive effort.
