Favorite Metal Band

I enjoy the soft refrains of the great country and western balladeer Marty Robbins. Nice, very nice indeed.

Marty Robbins is indeed a classic...His music should be valued and remembered....His ballads of old El Paso and the great southwest is Americana at its best...Long live Marty Robbins

He's not a cowboy but I always enjoyed Buck Owens. He stayed in California and did it his way. Good stuff!

Bucks side kick Roy Clarke is one of the best pickers ever....Fiddle...guitar..banjo..the man can pick with anybody...

well after the PA race in san fransisco the other week i went to my first heavy metal concert, actually my first concert ever. i went and saw slayer with i believe hatebreed playing before them. although i usually listen to hip hop, some country and occasionally metallica or ac dc, i really enjoyed the loud ass music being played in the war field.

Check out a group called Strapping Young Lad the drummer is absolutely sick and the song is called Relentless, check it out. Also the new Headbangers Ball CD from MTV2 kicks some ass.

Motley Crue tunes were the soundtrack to my youth. Read their autoboigraphy, "The Dirt". Good stuff.Saw them three times in concert and was never disappointed.

Also Iron Maiden (my first concert back in 1983 with Fastway and Saxon).

Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Scorpions, Ozzy, Metallica (all these bands pre-1990 stuff for the most part). Oh yeah, Motorhead too. I need an umlaut key on my keyboard for whenever I want to type "Motorhead".

I hate almost all this "Nu-Metal" crap, especially Godsmack. They blow goats. I do like System of a Down a lot. I just don't like the fact that nobody really plays guitar solos these days. It's all just droning music and angry-sounding vocalists, not enough catchy riffs, raging solos, or Halford/Dickinson/Dio-style vocals.

Linkin Park is the worst. I can't stand them, all they do is whine. And everybody likes that crap for some reason. And having a roomate that listens to them really sucks. Next time he puts that crap on, I'll just have to blast some Hatebreed or something.

try sepulturua is you want some real metal. soulfly is its modern derivative. great music!

80s metal is some cheesy crap. Thank God for Nu-metal. Sure some of it is getting bland and sounding the same, but I'll take it over some high-pitched, whiney voice with huge hair anyday. If you want a happy sounding vocalist, listen to some Brittany Spears, if you want a catchy rift, listen to matchbox 20. Tool is hands down better than anything out there.
