When will people get it through their heads that better training, no matter where its gotten...is not an unfair advantage
Does anyone honestly think that Vins track record (strong collegiate teams, great recruiter, little success with post collegiates) indicates that he could have gotten the same steady improvement curve that Rupp has seen under Salazar?
Salazar realizes this, Rupp realizes this, Vin realizes this, and Oregon realizes this...all of these groups are made to look better in the eyes of the public when Rupp runs well, as he does the majority of the time and that's why the only people with a problem with the situation are failed runners whining on letsrun
As long as Rupp attends classes at Oregon, mantains academic eligibility, doesnt accept prize money or extra benifits, passes drug tests, doesnt bet on any sports sponsored by the NCAA, and doesnt have a collegiate coach whos a selfish vain asshole...he has every right to run the best training available to him and represent the University of Oregon
the only people who could concievably have rational beef with this are the other Oregon athletes, but not at Rupp or Salazar, but at Vin for not modifying his model to incorporate some of the things that have been producing such great results for Rupp (not a dig at Vin for all I know he may well do this)
