I found a body too. Guy was still alive, but beat up and could not speak well because of the facial injuries. He had glasses, a goofy red and white sweater, and a funny stocking cap.
I think he said his name was Walter or Wallace or something.
kevin beck wrote an article about things runners have found on runs. If someone could find that and post it, great article.
That F-er's name was Waldo. Took me three years to find him. Owed me $7.50. Didn't have it so I beat his face in.

A working clothes dryer, and I needed one. Had to come pick it up with my truck, it was to heavy to run with back to my house.

My college XC team found a VHS porn still in it's case alongside the road..."Totally Stuffed #5"

I've found a baseball bat, which I ran the 8 miles home with in my hand; beach cruiser bike (brand new), which I stashed and came back to pick up later; lots of money (never more than $5 at once though); and a pile of porno mags (too rain soaked to look through); and a very nice winter coat (which I never use because I live in Florida)
Bump.
I've never found anything of massive monetary value. The best thing I found was probably my way back to a main trail after getting lost in a national park. If you know anything about this particular national park it was one you do NOT want to get lost over there. It was awful. I didn't want to run in circles and I figured out that if I ran in a straight line, at some point I would hit a road, but the key was keeping in a straight line. So I looked at how the sun was moving and I set off in the exact direction it was going to set. I thought running with it behind me or out of sight wasn't a good idea, and running with it to either side could've resulted in a non-straight line as obviously it would move. Whereas running towards where it would set would hopefully result in a straight line.
I tried not to panic and focused on the rhythm of running and my foot steps. I then had to walk as this carried on for a long time. I think I ran a bit as well as every time I stopped I would get cold. I was wearing a dri-fit T shirt and leggings. No sweatshirt or jacket. If I stopped it was cold.
I'd heard that years ago someone was running there and had fallen and broken their leg, and then died of exposure. I kept trying not to think about that.
Eventually I hit a road and felt a massive sense of relief. I could then follow signs and I knew I'd be OK. It took a really long time and I felt beaten up afterwards.
Tools. I don’t know why. I sure can’t use them.
But it’s really great when I find a hammer, pliers, screw drivers, wrenches.. even a tape measure .. just love it when I find those type things.
About a week and a half ago, I was taking one of my usual runs in Greeley CO that included running on the University of Northern Colorado Campus. On my way back I found a back of crystal meth on the ground. It was about a gram. lol
Not while running but while working retail, I found a wallet with over $2000 in cash. I was feeling very honest and integrity meant everything to me at that point in life. So I returned the wallet to the owner all the cash intact. Many would call me a fool (sometimes I wonder myself). I suppose I believe in karma and I believe doing the right thing creates more positive results in life.
I wished you had found my wallet. I used to carry a lot of money in my wallet and would throw my wallet in my trunk when I ran. Well this day my wallet fell short of my trunk and fell on the groung with all of $1,300 in it. That person who found it was not as kind as you. But at least he or she didn't use my credit cards.
I found myself running ultras, man
I've found (significant) money on the ground twice. Once it was in a wallet in a gutter (must have fallen out), I didn't want to touch it but I got tongs and mailed it to the person.
the other time it was a lot of 10s and 20s with no wallet, it was abandoned so I took it
In average I find two detachable bicycle rear or front lights per year.
I found lawnmower spark plug carb adjustor tool, early in a ten mile run, almost ditched it after a bit but did finish run with it. also while riding the Boilermaker course, found a multi-head screwdriver tool. A couple bits were missing, but still have it over twenty years later.
A very racy VHS with a vivacious name I probably can't post on this forum.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
