I have a dilemma. I started noticing issues with my old pair -- starting with a squeak in the heel that wasn't resolved with baby powder or switching the insoles. Then I started thinking that my knees were starting to feel a little achier for the first time.
Right before my 20 mile long run, three weeks before the planned marathon, I bought a new pair. I couldn't buy the same because Adidas discontinued. I bought the supposed upgrade. And these blistered my feet like I've never experienced (I ran 18 the week before). I traded in for different Adidas, worse problem with the next week's 12 mile run. Now, I'm 10 days out from the marathon and am wondering if I should go back to the old squeaks, or wear Asics Landreth 4 they're having me try from the specialty running store. The arch isn't as supportive as the Adidas Supernova 10. I ran 6 miles in them tonight and noticed that at the end.
There are two specialty running stores nearby but I've lost faith in both of them. They decided with this Asics pair that I'd been misdiagnosed as needing Stability, that I'm actually a Neutral.
I can't decide if it's better to wear the older shoes with over 300 miles on them or buy another new pair tomorrow and wear them all week until the race. At most, I'll run 20 miles between now and then. Anyone have any advice?
