I picked up a pair while on vacation in Japan this summer. Ive only worn them for some mile repeats and they felt amazing - lightest shoe ive ever purchased - about 5 ounces.
Obviously I have!
Great shoes but they rub just behind my little toe. There is an annoying seam there that connects the Flywire to the rest of the forefoot upper.

I bought a pair a few weeks ago. Overall they're okay but my biggest complaints are the upper mesh - stretchy as hell and the heel fit - Nike should just use heel counters like everyone else. Do Nike design these in the US or actually in japan? Anyone know?
There are a few videos on the US website of the designers and their workplace, and it's somewhere in Oregon. I'm not sure if it's connected to the Nike campus or not.
Are these for sale in the states?

not sure if they are going to be available in the U.S. Dont think that even nike knows yet. They are however marketing a new streak xc with a similar midsole/outsole. No news on if it will have the flywire upper or not,it has been tested with the upper that was on the jasari trainer.
Yeah these are going to be available in the US. Do these replace the katana though?
I tried a pair, definetly look and feel like the katana racer.
I ended up taking the Luna Racer instead, I think I made the wrong decision, I've only had one workout in them, but they feel like they won't last long, I'll see how they go I guess.

Kind-of, in that the Spider R is lighter than the Katana Rac3r and takes its place as the new top-of-line, but also there is another shoe, the Speed RCR, which has the same mid/outsole as the Katana Rac3r and a new upper.

To to guy who mentioned the heel of these shoes (and any one else)...
What is it like? Traditional heel counters are the bain of my life and hurt me in an instant. i love the luna racer as it is just nice and soft around the heel area.
To the guy who thinks his luna's won't last -- I have over 600miles on mine now and they aren't dead yet - another 2-300 to go I think.

Very soft, but obviously not cushiony - i mean its only 5 oz.. Havent run in the Luna racers though so I cant give you a comparison.
Just raced a 10k road race 2 weeks ago in these and felt amazing, i recommend if u can find

Why aren't these available in the US? It's been years.

They have been available in Australia for 3 years, really nice ride for shorter road races. They are now discontinued here. There's a new one called the LunarSpider and LunarSpider LT. Light and quite soft. The LT has a little more in the heel.
