Thanks for sharing your general ignorance in including Kenya and Ethiopia in any way with Russia. About the only thing they have in common is the hemisphere of the Earth in which they're both located.

he's dirty. get over it.
Wow! What a convincing and air tight case you've made!
Hey, I hope Dick Wolf is reading this thread -- I'll have to forward to him! Sam McCoy doesn't hold a candle to your thorough investigative skills, your keen analysis and clear presentation of evidence, or your personal experience with the field in question!
Reminds me of another classic point-counterpoint:
http://www.theonion.com/content/point/this_war_will_destabilize_theWhich law review do you sit on again? I didn't see it mentioned in your air tight case you submitted to the forum.
The vast majority of dopers in athletics who are getting caught, particularly in the U.S. BALCO scandal, are sprinters. Sprinting may be more popular than distance, so when one Olympic champion and WR holder after another gets busted, the public misconception is that the rampant drug use of sprinters applies to all of athletics.
The worst part is that sprinters and distance runners are so different in reality, but not in the minds of many ignorant spectators (but not true fans of the sport). The best sprinter in the world wakes up at noonish, munches on greasy food, snoozes a bit more, munches on more filth, and then goes out to the track to embarrass the international sprinting community as he showboats en route to world records.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have the distance guys, grinding it out every day (and many work multiple times a day) for years merely for the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics. Out of these, only the most dedicated, talented, and lucky can make it to the big show at the end of a grueling series of sacrifices and trials. Many fans of distance running share and understand this drive, but most Olympic spectators do not.
If Bekele tested positive, it would be an insult to the standard to which we hold ourselves and our heroes. For us, there is one way to the top, hard work. There is no shortcut. This is such a widely held virtue of the sport that such a high-profile positive would be a shock to all us. It would not ruin the sport, but the damage would be catastrophic.
Once again, on the other end of the spectrum, if a sprinter, say, Usain Bolt, tested positive, it would not ruin the sport, either. He would merely be digging the hole deeper. The sad fact is that if he tested positive, heads around the world would hang with the collective understanding that indeed, he was too good to be true. Bolt would be one more Olympic champion and world record holder to link the long chain of shameful predecessors. The Jamaican offseason dope-window would be transparent. It would just make too much sense.
However, we want to believe that he is not dirty. I believe he is not dirty. With the reputation of athletics hanging in the balance, and Bolt as our unwitting emissary, I hope his success continues and his clean-streak continues. He could be the pivot in public opinion that rebuilds credibility in our sport
well, he is dirty.
i know how you like to believe everyone is clean in this dirty sport. especially apparently those at the top.
it's cute. really, it is.
i hope santa brings you something nice this year. you still believe in him too, right?
by the way, since some of you are still so incredibly naive, here are a few things to look at (i hope the links work):

(drugs/talent not as good here apparently)

...but, but, but...he's clean! he's just even better than all of the talented guys on drugs!
Show proof, not unsubstantiated claims or pics of other people. Also, take a good look at the muscle striation and strain on the male 'roid heads. Then, note the lack of it on Bolt: its yet another anecdotal suggestion of his cleanness. However, the best suggestion whether Bolt is clean or dirty: HE HAS NEVER TESTED DIRTY.
You must be a huge fan of racewalking then.
F***ing Forensics Club President right here!
How can I be sure it was Obama, and not bonzo, who is the former head of the Harvard Law Review? I just can't tell given fantastic and airtight arguements put forth.
The great irony is that you think you're actually dealing in reality when in fact, you have no clue. That's what cracks me up. You think I'm so confident of my position based on what I read in the paper? Would you be? Sorry, bonzo, some of us actually know a thing or two about professional track and field.
I wonder if Mr Bolt will challenge what is said on this message board.
He should track and sue you mother fukers!
