our college X-C team put in 100 mile weeks back in the early to mid 70s. Not that unusual at that time.
Nor is it unusual now... I love the old guard from the 70s who think that nobody trains anymore. It's true most 14:30 guys give up now while back in the day lots of them turned themselves into 2:15 guys or at least sub 2:20 guys, awesome. Look we get it lots of you guys trained hard but what the f*** else were you supposed to do? TV sucked, there was no Internet, and the girls in porn were hairy with tan lines. Besides it was so much easier to run in the summer before global warming. Hell, I'd probably go run 100 mile weeks again if I didn't have so many better things to do.
Hmmmm... cheetos.
