After running 50-55 mile weeks up to 6/28 suffered a calf injury, that stopped my from running (some biking and eliplical training) until week of 8/11 - this will be a 40 mile week, and my legs feel like shit (fatigue, no calf issues. Also, gained about 7 pounds.
Any suggestions on what to do to salvage my marathon? I typically peak at 70 mpw for the marathon, and have ran 11 with a PR of 2:45 (2005), age 37. I figure no true speedwork b/c risk of injury, and less bang for your buck compared to tempo runs (defined as current fitness 10 mile race pace. Here's what I'm thinking. Thoughts?
