Feels a bit better today than yesterday. I am very vigilant about ANY sensations in that foot currently. Hopefully this will abate.
The PF drove me nuts for a few months after my last marathon in '94, the year I also turned 40. I would start off very sure, then it would fade as I ran.
I tried accupuncture, which helped for a period, but the PF came back when I wore lightweight trainers or flats. I NEVER had leg issues when I wore the pre-1993 NIKE Air Pegs. I loathe NIKE for destroying the Air Pegasus. Damn.
I went through a non-running period for nearly a year, and put on weight which has proved difficult to shed as I also developed vascular issues (hereditary) which resulted in being put on steroids for 3-4 cycles.
I had surgery in '03 to get rid of the problem and was unable to walk for a week.
Since then I got into alternative stuff, got into weights a bit, but after a terrible run at the VCM relay last May decided to address this once and for all...no half measures.
We'll see. I know I run afoul of some LETSRUNNERS, but I would NOT advocate training in racing flats unless you're young, very light and biomechanically sound.
If you are, count your blessings.
