I'm ok at 5K-half marathon, but better in the marathon and also on hills. I think it's because I'm a shuffler. However, I'm actually tall and long-legged. Is this unusual? Anyone else? Any elite runners who fit this mold?

Alan Culpepper comes to mind. Josh Moen ran 28:31 this spring...definite "glider"/shuffler.
How tall is tall? I think especially for the marathon, a shuffle is the most efficient way to run/race.
Well, I've got to be at least 5 inches taller than my competition.
Well, I'm not very good at shuffling and taking short strides, although I'm learning in order to up my cadence on my easy days.
I'm 6'5".
am I alone? wrote:
