It's hilarious how the IAAF claims to be "pleased" to make the announcement, considering that they fought him.
Seems to me he is a long way off hitting the qualifying time, anyway.
Does anybody know of any South Africans who are likely to hit the A standard?
Lets Hop
LOL. I laughed.
Interesting that CAS mentioned no "metabolic" advantage. What about a biomechanical advantage?
Too bad. When it seemed clear that he'd be kept out of able-bodied events, I wished him well.
I guess I still wish him well, but I hope he doesn't take any other person's spot in the Olympics.
He *does* have a mechanical advantage, and I don't see how that can be separated from a metabolic advantage.
If he got in shape for it, he could approach 40secs in the 400. Ridiculous.
I'm one of those people who remember the development of wheelchair racing...
I think the statement just claims that the study of his mechanical advantage was not sufficent. So if he does qualify for the Olympics, the IAAF may spend the money to have another study done. Either way, does anyone have video of him running 46?
Here he is, running 46.90:

His advantage is just ridiculous. Notice how he eats everybody alive in the final 100.
If he keeps an able-bodied person out of a spot in an Olympic race, I'm gonna be pissed as hell. Wheelchair racers don't compete with runners. Why? They have an advantage. Pistorius has an advantage, too.
