I used to live and run not far from Rancho. What was the "o/b to the gate" run?

we lived in Los Altos on Covington.. it was about 2 miles to the back entrance of the park. Another mile to the farm and then another mile to a spot where there was a big gate (long since removed). We had a fairly regular workout that was "brisk to the gate and EXTREMELY brisk coming back". Harry Green use to kick our asses on the way out, wait for us at the gate and then kick our asses on the way back. Of course he often had to stop about a mile from the house at an old timers bar called the Echo to use the facilities. It was our only chance to beat him home.
frankie out.
You're wrong. Mac Wilkins didn't go to Conte for vitamins. Look at him now.

That's a pretty impressive deterioration, and Mac Wilkins way very well have been juiced, but that don't mean he got it from Conte.
I don't mean to come across as a Conte apologist, but everything he's said in the last four years has turned out to be correct, and if he says that he didn't start doping people until recently, then I believe him.

Jason,
You probably bought some supplements, via mail order, after Conte was busted and did his time in jail. Matt Giusto was a personal client of Conte's before the bust. This is a very different situation. Plus, Giusto lived within driving distance of Conte's lab.
Conte's list is extensive. Giusto's is the only name from his training group on the list. If the others, from his training group, were cheating, thier names would be on the list too.
Where's the positive test for Giusto?
Yes I bought (and continue to buy) nutritional products from Victor. His stuff works!!

Where's the positive test for Marion Jones or Barry bonds?
A bit critical on my part but I took a look at the link posted by Mayeroff and have a few questions for him.
Posting a link to Victor Conte. Is that action worth the backlash you may receivie from Let's run posters, many readers who, for the most part, hate druggies? Are you excited about touting yourself as a "vitamin toting druggie" with experience in taking nutritional supplements disguised as performance enhancing drugs? If you believe that what you're taking is improving your performance without being illegal just because it's never been proven as illegal, than you're barking up the wrong tree with many of us. Doesn't a traditional multi vitamin do everything supplemntally for your body on a daily basis?
Personally, I name these types of individuals "baiters"; athletes who take these types of supplements to find the right edge are willing to go to other extremes if it means they'll get ahead of the competition enough to "win"! Is that you? Win at all costs?
I found this NPR thing where Matt Giusto says he was the first track client but seems to say it was above board:

You need to seek the truth, the scientific truth.
Victor Conte sells a number of excellent nutritional products such as ZMA that are highly beneficial, and contain no banned substances.
No, Multi-vitamins alone do not provide what you need. 2 times a year, I get a blood test that checks for the levels of important micronutrients such as magnesium, selenium, zinc, copper, anti-oxidants, vitamins and other minerals. I don't know where to get this done in the USA, so I just have it done at a hospital in Thailand.
Victor has admitted to his mistakes, distributing EPO, HGH and steroids through his business, and has served his time.
He has a great wealth of nutritional knowledge, and that's why I use his nutritional products.
ZMA does work, is completely legal, but you should buy it from the man who invented it.
