Republican don't even like McCain and he has hitched his wagon to an extremly unpopular war.
If this is a formula for a win ! ?

I agree that Nader won't affect this election. But you would be completely wrong to say that he didn't affect the election in 2000. That's just denial.
The 2000 election was probably the biggest debacle in American Politics since 1876.
This is why we shouldn't have a Census every 10 years, we should either have it every 5 years or every 10 years starting in 2009. That way the data is collected and the EC is corrected BEFORE we have a national election.
While we're at it let's just do away with the EC alltogether.

I think the only way Hillary can win now is if Obama says or does something incredibly stupid, and all the remaining superdelagates go over to Hillary.
I like how her argument that she's going to stay in the race is because "hey, why should I quit now there are other contests"
Like sometime in the past 100 years no one else has ever thought of that. Everyone else who conceded a race in march or April was weak because they saw the writing on the wall and realized they wanted to help their party. I'm sure no other candidate has let their supporters down by dropping out of a race with 10 primaries left.
Neither can reach the needed delegate count without party insiders(superdelegates). Add to this millions of votes not counted in Florida (largest primary turnout ever) and Michigan, and you get a very non-democratic process. Is this the same party crying "every vote must count" for the last 8 years? Is this the party whining constantly about the "will of the people"? She's hanging around because we don't know anything about Barak Obama, and the more that comes out, the worse it gets. He is an empty vessel at this point, into which alot of Dems are pouring their "hopes" for "change". Just what kind of change this will be can be found in his voting record in Illinois and Washington. He hasn't shown much capacity for reaching across party lines. The majority of his views are quite leftist (almost marxist), and not in line the majority of Americans. The party probably realizes this, but fear denying him the nomination would alienate the black vote which they've relied on for 50 years. Hillary would be wise to stick around. In two months anything can happen. With the Good Reverend, known terrorists, and dirty Chicago political insiders, you never know what's around the corner.
The Clinton are sociopaths
She may have won if she hadn't needed to win so bad.
Hillary is just looking for a little influence and maybe the VP nod. It's really playing out well for the Dems. All the chinks in Obama's armor will be exposed well before the election and thus will become 'old news'. He will be hardened into a much better candidate. I expect McCain will win Arizona and really not much else. He will be massacred. Dems will probably end up with about 65 seats in the Senate.
She would have won if she had planned on continuing after Super Tuesday. She didn't have the money to continue and took it in the stomach 11 times in a row.
Florida and Michigan voters can blame their state's Democratic leaders. I'm all for counting Florida and Michigan...provided they get a "do-over" after both candidates get a chance to campaign there. Clinton of course just wants to let those results stand on their own because she knows if Obama starts campaigning there her leads will evaporate. There was no reason for Obama supporters to come out to the polls in either of those states because he wasn't listed in one and they knew it didn't matter in the other.

The most likely way for Hillary to win the Democratic nomination is to hang around, say the right things, keep it close and then hope Obama puts his foot in his mouth (again) and so enough Super Delegates jump ship to her camp for her to take it at the Dem. Conv. this summer.
Given Obama's tendency to put his foot in his mouth when he talks off the cuff, i.e. not from a script, (while his speeches are superb) this is a plausable strategy.
Would you want to have Hillary as your VP, "one heartbeat away from the Presidency?"
You'd need a food taster, would always have to sit with your back to the wall, and your Secret Service guys would need Secret Service protection.
How much do we know about this man?
Quite a bit, given his tax returns and voting records are open to the public and he's been under intense scrutiny for the past 7 months.
Michigan and Florida aren't a conspiracy against Clinton, and she needs to stop blaming Obama. The people responsible for that debacle are the local politicians who can't understand simple rules.
I agree the superdelegates are a bit ridiculous. So let's leave them out, and she wouldn't even need to give up. She would have lost. He has more than half of the pledged delegates, and will by the end of the election barring wins of around 70-80% by her in all remaining states.
Just because you don't like someone, doesn't mean you can call them an empty vessel. That's not the same as "not in line with my views". Plenty is known about his ideas and policies.

i have voted for republicans in the past, but will vote for obama in this election if he is nominated. so, that isn't entirely true
Could you explain what his ideas and policies are to an interested Englishman?
OP,
Clinton is hanging in there because she's loaned millions of her own dollars to the campaign and needs to keep the fundraising machine operating a while longer so she can have the campaign pay her back before she bows out.

Nice analysis Kud...
Hillary will keep on fighting because her efforts will reward her with the Whitehouse. The longer she stays in the more leverage she will have to become VP or the more time to scare the crap out of the super delegates that blue collar democrats will not vote for an African American.
It's no different than a competitive distance runner. If you can't win then at least get on the podium (in this case top 2).
I don't know why people fault her for her ambition and drive. Oh sure she's a sociopath because she wants to win and Ryan Hall is...an all around good guy?
I agree with what someone else said, her desire to win is in her DNA not something she can turn on and off, even in the face of certain defeat.
Hillary: "What are the chances of me becoming President?"
Super Delegate: "Oh I don't know, 1 million to 1."
Hillary: "So you say there's a chance! YES!"
I agree with you here... political man sounds like he was trying to cover all the negative stories about Obama without elaborating. I find it humorous to read a lot of he bloggers stuff on both sides. The Clinton fans are very close to using "scare tactics" by reciting as many negative hot-button words about Obama as they can in one streaming sentence without any explanation. Don't get me wrong, obama fans do the same thing - it has turned into an all out war between the two about everything except the topics. And does Mccain even have fans? It seems the right hates him and now that he is trying to appeal to them with as many hot topic promises as he can squeeze in one speech he alienates those that got him where he is at.

Clinton or Obama will end the war. McCain will draft you and I and will send us to die for Israel. They aren't even white people. In the new Selective Service there are no student or conscientious objectors, and the Pentagon will stop taking 1st timers in the CG, AF, Navy and will only take AR amd MC vets. In other words, I will be seeing you on the front-line ;-(
Nah... the aliens will beem us up to the mothership first.
Or the New World Order will take over.
Or the government will findout something during their constant 24/7 surveillance of your home and take you off to never be heard from again.
Or the big bad republicans will put children to work and take away medicare and force everyone into slave labor.
Pick your fear tactic.
What we need is Change...whatever the hell that is.
I think it's gonna be the other way around, Obama had to beat the best, toughest, most aggressive political machine in this country while McCain was challenged by some nobodies who only attacked him of being too moderate(what is hardly a negative for the general election).
The DNC, the democratic candidates for congress, the moveon.org type organisations are raising money like never before while the Republicans are strugglin big time financially. So the Democrats will have every opportunity to shine the light on the negative, not so moderate sides of McCain while he has to fight on the other side too, getting the right-wingers to the polls.
