you spent $180 on a pair of spikes????
no way. the vent 2's are the best spike hands down for the 10k. perhaps for a moderately paced 5k (if you're running 13flat like lagat maybe you want the victory's) they'd work too. i know that hesch, abdi, and boaz were all wearing the vent 2's at stanford so seems like the nike guys like them.
i got a small discount.. 160 aus dollars dude. dont automatically assume everyone is american just because you are ;).
No we assume it's American 'cause we're all posting/reading on a f***ing US website.
He didn't assume you weren't American, the last part of your post says 180 dollars, so he was commenting on that obviously.
america is not the only country where they use dollars.
The point was he said "you spent a 180 dollars?"Where did he say he thought he was American???????

Since in the US the spikes are $180, that implies that he did assume the original poster was from the US.
Oh, come on. The Aussie dollar is damn near equal to the US dollar. As of today the conversion rate is something like 1.00(USA)/1.06(AUS). So even with your discount you still spent the equivalent of 150 US dollars on a pair of track spikes, which is borderline insane.
Right now 180 Aus dollars = $168 US. Regardless, to answer your original question, if you're spending more than $60 on spikes then you're wasting your money...unless you care more about fashion than performance.
You pay $75-100 for trainers that last 1-3 months. Nothing wrong with a guy paying $150 on a pair of spikes that should last 2-3 track seasons?
I won't pay $110 for the new vents bc I don't feel I'm on the elite level. However, there is a huge difference btw the current nike distance spikes priced at $89 and those priced at $60.
yes
