How much of hassle is it on a daily basis to move and unfold a treadmill?
Avgerage_Joe,I thought I read you have one. Could you respond?
How far are you moving it? The folding part is easy, the moving part could be a pain if you have a long way to go.
But even that should be manageable if that's your only choice.
From the corner of room to the middle of the room. I'd say about 10 - 15 feet. Are these things easy to handle when moving? The wheels look kinda small to roll easily across wall-to-wall carpet. I was considering a Sole F85.
Could I put like 7 miles per day on that?
It is no hassle at all. The one I have has a little button you push to release it and then you lower it down. Takes all of 15 seconds, most of which is waiting for it to go down.
I should add that I don't move my treadmill much. I can move it but I prefer to keep it in one place and just unfold it.
Still I did move it a couple of times last winter. Moving it is more difficult. It does have wheels but I have hardwood floors and I would never roll something so heavy over them. So when I want to move it, there is a little dance I have to do rolling a little, then moving the mat, etc.
Next winter I plan to buy a second treadmill mat to make this easier.
Mine weighs over 300lbs and has tiny front wheels so it's really not meant for a lot of moving around. Steering it is a pain too. The better folding treadmills probably weigh a lot and are not easy to move. What kind of floor?
Average_Joe, how much daily mileage are you putting on the F85? Is it comfortable?
The Sole F85 is a great machine. Like everyone keeps saying, although they like to act like these treadmills are mobile, they really aren't designed to be rolled all over the place. However, if you have it on a solid carpeted surface, there's no reason why you couldn't move it 15 feet every day.
