Well, I didn't hardly think it could possibly get better than the stupid-runners-who-wear-the-wrong-spikes gem.

going to start posting since you went and brought a cow into it. Hogs, Hawgs, and Razorbacks are ohkeigh, but no cows, please.
Have a good weekend out there.
You are still awake Orson? Oh yeah, it is Friday, I guess you?ll be up to 9PM tonight ?partying down?? Wow, you caught one misspelling in several sentences written by me. I guess that means my point is worthless then, huh? It?s funny how my one mistake was the incorrect use of ?know.? Why? Because spell-check doesn?t catch those types of errors. Damn!!! I know, it?s things like spell-check that are making this generation weak and lazy, huh, Orson? But it is good to see that you are not too old yet to say things like ?You various attempts at logic sort of sucks too.? Cool. Didn?t ?sucks? used to be a very bad word in your day, Orson? Things change, huh? And you meant to say ?YouR various attempts?.?, right? Just checking. I guess your old brain is no better than a mechanical spell-check program.
ESAD. That means nothing to me. What does it stand for? Is it Elderly Senile Anarchy Division ?? Is that what this women and you are part of? She is part of a group of senior citizens with dementia trying to ?fight the power? and change the unjust rules of this world by refusing to obey laws(or just breaking them unintentionally because they keep forgetting that they have been told to ?not do it again?)? They are not gonna come and kick my ass now, are they???
Spell-check not catching incorrect word usage is not funny. It emphasizes that poor writing cannot be converted to good writing by a computer.
ESAD. Figure it out over the weekend.
Then what about you mistake? Woops...I meant to write ?youR? mistake. Of course ?poor writing cannot be converted to good writing by a computer? if by good writing you mean writing that contains intelligent ideas. But?computers can and do correct mistakes. And that it is too bad for you since this technology will rob you of the joy you apparently take in pointing out others? minor spelling/grammar errors. I guess you will need to find something else to make you feel smart.
I already figured out what ASAD means and told you(Elderly Senile Anarchy Division). And yes, and I cracked myself up with my definition of the acronym. HA HA HA.
Is there another meaning(if you don?t want to tell me?..no, I will not lose sleep over it. We youngsters have no trouble sleeping. Especially when we are all drugged up and tired from watching MTV.) ?
this is a ridiculous topic, but it struck a nerve with me because of an experience my friends and i had a couple of years ago. we showed up at the local high school track because the college was holding the state meet at the time. we expected to do our workout there. i guess that was ignorance on our part. we showed up and found it was locked. since we were all pretty thin, we found a place we could easily squeeze into. at that time, a maintenance guy yelled at us to get out of there. so we went inside and asked if we could use the track. we stood there as someone got the principal who was unsure at first and then told us we might be able to if we were given some sort of passes. he left the office to talk to someone else and came back to tell us we weren't allowed to use the track. no reason was given. we were out of luck. so we ended up doing the workout right in front of the school in the parking lot. they sent out a security person to watch us run around in circles. of course we want our kids safe. i don't think i could've hurt anyone with my 6 ounce flats and nothing was hidden in my running shorts. there aren't many places to go. i can't build a track in my backyard. there's not one at the gym. arresting anyone for running on a track? find some real criminals. they're out there. now they should arrest those who walk or jog in lane one while someone flys by them every couple of laps in lane 2.
Interesting, I've never seen "whoops" spelled that way before. It should be right there between "wooly" and "woozy" and I can't find it. Writing can certainly contain intelligent ideas without being good writing. Good writing does not necessarily contain inteligent ideas. Noticing writing errors has little to do with my feeling smart. Almost everytime I read something I learn how terribly inadequate my education is and, probably, will continue to be.
You, on the other hand, I wonder about -- then I remember that most "youngsters" have cell phones so they can call for directions back to the kennel.
ESAD?

Time to update your dictinary pops (yes, language evolves and has evovled since the time you received your "inadequate education" as you put it. Slang-type words have multiple spellings). Read it and weep(from Encarta World Dictionary):
" WHOOPS [ woops, hwoops ] or woops [ woops, hwoops ]
interjection
indicates mistake: used to express surprise, concern, or embarrassment at making a mistake or having a slight accident
[Mid-20th century. Origin uncertain: possibly a variant of oops.]"
I guess it time for YOU to say "whoops!" HA HA HA.
OK, a couple more shots at ASAD(and you) for me: Since you brought it up, it must be a group you belong to or an affliction you have, hmmmm..

I'm just having fun with you Pops. Don't sweat it. But you lost the battle to a stronger, smarter, and younger foe. There is no shame in that. But your time is past....now step aside gracefully and let the new generation have their say.
She pays taxes. No one else was on the track. Let the woman run. Its the assholes that kick her off that make all the old men and women vote against our school budget's every year making different programs get cut. If you're not going to let them use the facilities while no one else is, then you can't expect them to vote for increasing a school's budget, which equals less funding, which equals no resurfacing of the track, no new pole vault mats, etc.

I "always" yell TRACK!!!! at anyone walking or jogging in lane one, especially when they have those dumb pe classes.
The teachers just look at me with a dumb look on their faces.
They don't usually call security though, unless I knock someone down...... but that does happen sometimes...... guess they thought I gave them a "MIK-ie" HA HA HA HA

Sure, if a class is planning to use the track, by all means, it's theirs... they have first dibs. But, if no one is using it, why have a cow if it is apparant that someone is just running circles?
It's a safety issue. You're not supposed to even be on school grounds if you have no school business.
Yeah if it's taxpayer funded we should have access to it! Now that I think about it, don't my taxes help fund the White House and Oval Office? Hell, I should be able to chill there whenever I like too! Run a few laps around the ole Oval.

Far fetched, maybe, example - a 65 yr old man shows up at the track to run some laps. School officials leave him alone and don't pay that much attention to him. Later on he molests one of the kids. What is the schools legal position?
Pretty bad shape I would say.
Can't start trying to decide who 'looks' safe and who doesn't. That'll get you in more trouble. So everybody stays out.

yes, that's the path we are taking. limit everyone because something bad might happen if we don't. keep taking away privileges and positive things that people take part in so we keep everyone safe. personally, i hate living that way. here's my far-fetched response - hundreds of people come and use the track for exercise purposes. they are given another avenue to be healthy and active and become a good example to their children. there's bad people out there who do bad things all over the place. it's not going to stop. i understand the school's legal position and everyone else's for that matter. everyone is covering their ass. i hate living that way too.
For the few that mentioned it I do want to say that I am NOT "ageist" I was simply pointing out what may have been one of the many rationales behind her behavior, and that age (or any of the other things I mentioned) doesn't make a person above the law. As was said in the prior post, its too bad it has come to this but in this day and age there is regulations and laws for good reasons and they must be enforced equally, not selectively. Now let's get back to running....
I am not backing up this woman, and she should have stepped off the track when asked (esp. by law enforcement).
However, I see the original "offense" as akin to speeding by 2-5mph in a 70mph zone. Are any of you other guys law-breakers, or is it just me?
Also, like or not, profiling goes on and it is not such a bad thing. It's simply applied statistics. If there is a 20-30yr old guy loitering around the track in cammo pants and an Ozzy shirt, then if I am going to ask the guy to leave (even though he might be a 2:18 marathoner). But if it's a 65yr old woman, and no one is using the track... c'mon... you've got to be kidding if you see a clear and present danger there.
I've got an idea... how about spending a minute or two to get to know someone instead of spending 30 to go through bureaucratic channels to remove an inconvenience?
We always run on our local high school track during school hours. We've never had a problem. I guess that's one good thing about living in a hick town.
