1:26:52 1st half
1:24:06 2ns half
He is a very steady and smart runner. Granted not world class like everyone expects him to be.
Good job Lance!

I'd be thrilled with that time.
I'd be happy too (unless I'd run a 2:46 last year, like he did).
The 2:46 was NYC - not Boston. This is his first Boston - pretty good debut I'd say.
And he ran NYC in 2:46 LAST YEAR. Why did that need a correction?
You mean LA the DRUG CHEAT?
Must be why he gets his own tape to run thru at the end:
World class? He isn't even regional class.
There are a large number of marathon races he would win. Check marathonguide.com.
Search this site for the 2005 men's marathon list and drop in his time. Easily top 1000. You could also do 2007, but that's an OT year and everyone and their mom is trying to run an OT qualifier.
He ain't bad.
Alan
It's pretty damn hard to negative split Boston because EVERYONE goes out so damn fast on the initial stretch with that long downhill..

Ewww. I'm not a lance hater, but that's ridiculous.
There were about 1500 sub 2:45s by Americans last year.

It seemed to me as though he was confused about the tape at the end. At the finish the organizers directed him to another separate chute from those around him where the tape was spread. He was pointing to himself and the tape as to be asking you want me to go there?
I got the sense that he was not sure about it and almost seemed embarrassed about the extra attention.
Oh sweet GOD what pluralistic horseshit! I cannot respect the BAA or Armstrong ever again, they're as bad as Oprah or Paris Hilton.

It did seem that way. I have no clue why the race directors would do that, it was tacky and stupid. Lance probably was like "What the hell?"
NYC was only 5 months ago. Lance ran this off of base only!
Dopers suck !
Im glad that the guy finally ran the marathon. If I had a nickel for every time people debated on this board how fast his marathon could be, I would have retired long ago.
Well done Lance.
Someone buy that man a respectable pair of running shorts.
If he wants to be called a runner, start with running shorts not b-ball shorts!!
