By your logic, you should start a thread about how people don't use titles which make you happy.
Bottom line is this:
Lawson and co. aint gettin in done and All Ohio is just a harbinger of the MAC meet.
Rack me

You're absolutely right.
On second thought though, you make no sense at all. How does my logic say that I should make that topic?
Hello everyone. I am not a follower of this message board but someone told me about this thread, so I felt obligated to respond.
I'm not sure who "Im average" is, but I do not post on this board. Therefore, I have never "bashed" the current coaching staff at Kent State. My problem was never with them. Those of you who know me, know the party/ies I had issues with.
So, you are absolutely correct. I have NO IDEA as to what is going on there. lol
I have also never "touted" Wendel and Brad on here (again, don't post on this board), although I feel any comments would be much deserved. They are great coaches, great guys, great recruiters and a couple of my good friends whom I still stay in touch with.
I am back in Nebraska, living the good life, and couldn't be happier. I still follow Kent State Track & Field as it was a significant stop on my journey through life. In addition, some of my recruits are still on the team and I care very much about their success.
I wish the current coaching staff nothing but well wishes and hope to see a MAC championship trophy back in the Mac Center.

How terrible is the MAC in general though. Have you seen the qualifying heats on the mens side thus far? They only have enough entrants to eliminate a couple guys. The 1500 had 13 entrants where they only eliminated one poor kid.
I realize they must struggle with budgets and title 9 restrictions, but aren't there enough student-athletes?
This conference will be no more officially inside the next 3 years. The men's side is hardly a conference as it is.
Anyone who ever went to a MAC Championship in the past knows it was a great college meet. Highly competitive, filled with intensity, and lots of adrenaline flowing around. The battles between EMU, CMU, WMU were great. Then young AD's wanting to make a name for themselves came into the conference, used money for track & field to fund football improvements, and then left for better, more high profile jobs after they dumped men's track. The men's side now is a joke. If you can find 3 men for each event you will score lots of points. I can remember great battles where you almost had to run an NCAA qualifying time to score. Those days are gone forever.
To me, the MAC was what college athletics was all about. Most of the athletes were not high profile high school athletes, many being pure walk-ons. All they got was excellent coaching, a chance to compete, and developed into national class runners, jumpers, and throwers. The MAC was probably the best "teacher" conference in the country, where athletes were actually coached and not just managed like at the Big 10, SEC, Big 12, PAC 10.
There is a piece of our track and field history that is gone forever.
I understand most people that post are distance runners. But don't state incorrect facts. The MAC is extremely strong in throws, especially on the women's side. You basically have to hit a regional mark just to place. None of the running events are like that.
It is a great throws conference.
Eveerything else is a little better than high school depth wise.
Better?
