If addidas is sold out of this shirt online, what are the chances that they will have it for sale at the expo?

i've got a jacket from 1994, my first year - and it has no date on it and the old round logo on the back - not the flat-bottom one they've used since '96
from my 14 trips, the only 'official' jacket i have is from '98 - i got my PR that year, and i bought it in 2000 or 2001 for $25
Are they going to have Boston Marathon Fanny Packs? That would be awesome.
much of the stuff in the 'boston marathon' category is listed as unavailable on the web site.
most, if not all, of it will be there in the adidas booths
Just like clockwork every year the same tired threads make an appearance.

Is it just me, or are those Boston marathon jackets f-ugly. Plus they and the people who wear them seem to annoy me.
I buy a jacket every year. I wear them frequently. What's the matter, still trying to qualify? Just train a little harder.
Wait 6 months.... I've spotted Adidas "Official Boston" merchandise in TJ Maxx stores several times.
1 week before Boston 2005 I saw a fat chick at my gym wearing the Boston 2005 Adidas garb. That quickly made me budget a little less spending money for the expo.
I don't like the jackets so much, but I will probably buy the mug (pretty in my opinion) and perhaps the baseball cap.

I've run 4. I never bought one. At the start of the 2000 race, a guy I barely knew had on the 1999 jacket, told me he was going to toss it at the start, and I took it. I had students maning the 1st waterstop - at 3 miles, and threw it to them. I got it still to this day. I saved $80. I wear it once in a blue moon.
As for the comments about runners who wear them to refute their low self esteem. Consider this: many runner have low self esteem. Many runners ask you how you did in a race not so they can hear you, but so they can tell you what they did. Many runners are like 4th graders trying to one-up the other kid.
Agree, that jacket looks like it came from a superhero costume. To the OP, this kind of stuff that people wear for a 'status symbol' appeals most to the self-absorbed. In effect, they end up diluting the quality of the 'brand' they're wanting to publicly identify with.

Exactly the opposite of what you said:
The Adidas jackets are OK. The Image Impact jackets, however are quite UGLY.

I've never really felt the need to buy the jacket to publicly identify with the Boston Marathon. I just like the jackets.
It may very well be that I am self-absorbed, but in the end, I just like how they look.
I bought BM shorts that I wear for every race. Sometimes I'll wear the BM singlet that I bought with the shorts.

I see people at road races with the Boston jacket on and too me it indicates that this person is at least semi serious about their running.
I see them and know I really won't have to worry about them in this race...
ok what do you guys think of this...a guy I went to high school with who has never qualified, he bandits the race AND buys 'The Jacket' every year.
I think when you look in the dictionary he is pictured under 'Tool' and you know what? I am sure I have seen him in acid wash jeans. Well since high school.
What about these lovelies on sale now:
I think it's an okay jacket...I bought one my first year, because it was my first time (and I didn't really have a windbreaker anyway). I certainly don't wear it like a status symbol. Actually I try to avoid wearing it around runners because I do sort of feel like a tool...
That's from 91.
He's had that rag on sale for the last year.

Before thinking about it I read this as "I bought Bowel Movement shorts..." which evoked some entertaining imagery for my morning. Thanks.

A tool is a tool because of their personality, not because of what they wear. If you are cool and wear a Boston marathon jacket, the only people who might think you are a tool are the judgemental people who don't know you. Who cares what they think.
Look, I've bought a couple of Image Impact jackets over the years because I like to show the cigarette-smoking co-workers who wear splashy Patriots and Red Sox Jackets what it means to actually still PARTICIPATE in athletics instead of sitting in front of TV drinking too much beer and mouthing off with stupid opinions trying to impress others with how much they know about sports.
That's me passing judgement on others, for sure. THOSE folks irritate me, especially when they always tell me how much damage I'm doing to my body.
