Paula Abdul doesn't have to go. This woman has to go.

If Paula werent on the show, all this talk wouldnt be taking place. as it is AI gets much more from her presence in discussions than probably any other single factor. Nobody wants to talk for long about Simon, Randy, Ryan, or any of the contestants. She single handedly keeps the show a topic of discussion.
Bet you'll tune in tonight!!

Whaaaat??? Paula Abdul is an IDIOT! She clearly made it ijn voice overs. Notice everyone of her songs are taped with her dancing and lipping. There's a reason - she did the song in a studio and had it touched-up. She is awful!
Simon is the reason there IS and American Idol.
Paula is so awful, I have to tape it and fast-forward when she has her turn to speak.
1) Read what I wrote again. I said Paula knows more about American music than Simon does -- and she does. That doesn't mean she's a great singer. Randy and Paula were immediately impressed with Taylor Hicks (and they should have been), but Simon didn't get it. Anytime there's any blues or American roots music of any kind, Simon doesn't get it. Paula does. She is also a lot better at knowing who did a song, when it was recorded, etc. This is not one of Simon's strong points.
2) I agree that Simon is the reason why American Idol has survived and thrived. He is the best judge (I said that earlier). He's the best judge of talent generally speaking.
3) Regarding Paula Abdul though, I'm sure many would like to be a awful as she is. She had a few hits in the 80s and then has had (and continues to have) a successful career as a choreographer. She's not the most talented person ever, but she's made a career out of it, and that's more than the vast majority of wannabees can say.
Keep in mind that you guys that call those of us who watch the show "gay" are the same ones that clicked on a link about Paula Abdul.....interesting.
In spite of it all, I'd boink her again this morning.

And with Taylor being nowhere today, Simon's not all that far off.

He was still the best of that group. Very few of the American Idols have made any sustained recording artist effort.
Kelly Clarkson
Chris Daughtry
Carrie Underwood
I think all the others were one or two CDs with marginal at best sales -- maybe Clay Aiken made some money.
The rest of the good either went into movies or broadway or back to touring regionally or just out of it altogether.
I bet Taylor Hicks would say his life is better after winning than it was before.
