I'm going to buy a new mp3 player. I want something that's comparable to the iPod nano. Anyone have suggestions?

the ipod nano is comparable to the ipod nano. why dont you just get an ipod?
maybe OP doesn't want to pay a premium for a product with less features than its competitors?
i'm with the guy, but i'm not at a point in my life where portable music is important to me
Microsoft's Zune is pretty comparable. There is a thread on it in the last couple of days.

You do realize that YOU are the OP, right?
If you want to make another post to support yourself and make it look like another person supports you, then you need to change your name.

REGISTER your names, people!
regardless of whether he replied to his own post, i'm going to second the nomination of the Zune

I am Spartacus.
Since you seem to think that the other products have more feature at a lesser price, then it seems like you've already done your homework.
Maybe it's just that you need the the reassurance of letsrun posters for you to buy a Zune when almost eveyone else on the planet has chosen the iPod.
Zune is good. The SanDisk Sansa (name?) is good too; has SD slot for more memory and you can get an 8gb SD card for CHEAP. Creative makes good MP3 players too.
Another vote here for the Creative line of MP3 players. I have an old 40gig Zen Extra that is still going strong after 4 years of use, and I have a 1gig Zen Stone that I really like. Similar size and capacity as the IPod Shuffle, but 1/2 the price.
i concur with the Creative models. You can drag and drop music onto them without loading extra software. Zune requires you to use the Zune software which adds an extra step of creating a playlist in the Zune software as opposed to whatever media player you use.
i used a creative with an armband for several years before it died. the drawback with the model that the buttons were tough to use on the go.
I have the SanDisk Sansa. It's much easier to get movies you've ripped or recorded off the tv onto the player, unless you like paying Apple for content.
ive got a sandisk sansa too. but i have the cheaper one that costs about $50 to hold 200 songs and its got fm radio and voice recorder for some reason.
