Yes, and Komen's 7:24.9 3k.
Those two come to mind right away. The other is Carl Lewis' 28' 10 1/4" long jump off a short runway in Madison Square Garden. Under pressure, no less--did it in his final jump to knock off Larry Myricks.
Eamonn Coglan's 3:58. as a 40-year old was very impressive. It was run during one of the Massachusett State meets, and the place was going wild.
Before I opened this thread I was gonna say the Carl Lewis jump that's been mentioned. If you saw the Madison Square Garden conditions in which he did it, you'd be amazed. It defiitely surpasses any outdoor long jump in quality. Mike Powell, at his peak, couldn't manage anything beyond 26 and a half feet in the Garden.
Was going to say those 2. I have to say the 1:42 indoor 800 is the #1 running one though. It's on youtube, and when I watch it I'm just astounded by it every time.
Michael jackson's Thriller ,25 years ago!
Eamonn Coghlan when he ran the only drugless sub 3:50 indoor mile
Jarmila Kratochvilova’s 49.59 400mts.
Only joking.
What a physical contrast to Soboleva - I’ve fallen in love.
Apart from that, I noticed that many of the women who didn’t look all that attractive during the competition itself, looked quite desirable later when ‘tarted up’ for the medal ceremony.
