About Craig's attitude - just like to say I was up at Falls Creek with my young lad after the National All Schools and Craig was very generous with his time allowing my lad to run with him. That was a brilliant experience for my lad. Craig didn't have to do it, I have trained with or known elite athletes over my career who would not have been willing to have a 15 year old run with him on some of his regular runs. He is hugely confident as he has to be.

About his performance - did not see the World indoor race so can't comment on how he ran it, just a bad one I guess. Another way of looking at it is in the context of his preparation for Beijing; a very fast indoor 3000 followed by a competitive indoor mile followed by a solid 5000 outdoor win followed by 5th in World indoors. Seems great preparation for Beijing to me.

Useful if you appreciate numbers and odd stats.

Exactly, how dare Mottram think that he is one of the best distance runners in the World? Who the hell does he think he is? 12.55 for 5000m what's so special about that?

Well when they are in the media as much as they are everyone can see what is going on inside their heads. Example during Osaka Mottram has a lengthy interview. During it, the interviewer says very openly, my son loves watching the Big Mizunga DVD. Craig replies with 'well that's because i'm in it', yet he wasn't looking at anyone when he replied, just looking at something inside his own head, his own self image.

As for personal bests sorry i thought he was a 5000m runner. When did he last pb in that event?
