That's his first time under 4 right? Impressive, it's about time.

Why is it "about time"? He's progressed about how any runner of his ability in HS should progress. He ran a 4:00.27/802.80 last year indoors, and 3:42.40 in the 1500 outdoors which was great progress over his sr year in hs where he went 345.73 and 403.96/846. And now he's gone 358 and 757.45 this year and potentially faster. There's no "about time" about it.
How many times has AJ been hyped up to run sub 4 and hasn't done it? Plenty in the last few years. Like you said, he's just missed in the past with his 4:00.xx and I think he's ran 4:01 a few times. I guess I just feel like it is about time that he finally did it, I'm sure he feels the same way. My statement was nothing against AJ or anything like that.

Fair enough. But being hyped up and it actually being about time are two different things ya know. His progression so far has been fantastic. Some people expect insane jumps in improvement (which isn't impossible). But to me, going from 403 high outdoors, to 4 flat indoors, to 358 indoors is fantastic. Others have had much harder journeys to sub 4. Jeff See's wasn't an easy one. Sam Bair is still trying. Acosta did it in due time and i just didn't think the "about time" comment should be aimed at him just because he came close last year and has been hyped up. One has to look through the hype and take what he has done for what it is. And it's been consistent improvement.

Funny how Alberto had Rupp running Millrose and in England when all AJ had to do was drive a couple hours up the 5 to run his first sub 4.
AJ's teammate looked ready to box him into the other runner on the last lap. AJ got over, but it looked like despite his teammate. Teammates don't do that to each other.

Actually it's not funny. Aj and Rupp have different goals, and different training schedules. AJ is semi peaking for indoor nats. Rupp is not. AJ is training for the mile, Rupp is not. Rupp running this meet was not in his plans. And people don't run Millrose for the time. Breaking 4 would have been an added benefit there, but it's for historic purposes people run in that race, not to runs prs.
AJ on DyeStat right now ... bragging to his minions how easy it was ... what a class act
I have no doubt that Alberto will have Rupp ready for the trials but there really was no need or benefit for him to go to NY and England looking for a sub 4. Myabe it reduced the boredom of training who knows. If he really wanted a sub four he could have done it a few hours from hom either in this meet or earlier in the season.

Oregon isn't much of a team , just a bunch of fast guys cheating the system
