Nope.

Nope. Lightning doesn't strike twice in the same spot.

What about them? Do they have anybody else besides Shaun Smith?

That isn't that fast.
My money is on LSU. With Rueben (1:47), Elkana (1:47), Jamaal (1:47) and now Peter Kosgei (4:00y), I think they should be the favorites.
I think a team to watch will be Penn State, they will definitely turn some heads, but they may also try to stack the DMR. I don't think Columbia will be able to defend their title but they will definitely be in the mix. Look for another Ivy - Dartmouth- to pull off the upset in the DMR.
Arkansas will win

you're probably wrong.
I can hear it now... "Let's go NOVA" echoing throughout the stadium...
Is a high school race. It's overrated and for guys that can't do the DMR or the 4xMile.

Roy C. Sullivan, an ex-park ranger, survived seven different lightning strikes. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Sullivan was first hit by lightning in 1942, which caused him to lose his big toenail. Over the next 35 years, lightning burned off Sullivan's eyebrows, seared his left shoulders, set his hair on fire, struck his legs, injured his ankle, and burned his stomach and chest.
Columbia has at least 6 more wins in them & I think this year is gonna be #2.

Spoken like someone who has no leg speed.

Those guys will be in great shape until they hand it off to that 4 minute half miler.
brilliant. I could kiss you.
UConn
Gagnon(1:48.2) Rutt (1:48.9) Iannaconne (1:50.04) Holsts(1:51.7) All indoor Prs i believe.... has lighting struck them yet? i think they might be due!
V FOR VILLANOVA
V FOR VICTORY
LETS GO NOVA!!!!
A) 7:26 at Big East indoors is very fast. splits were Mike Kerrigan 1:53.mid, Makenzie 1:50.mid, Korich 1:49.high, and Tully 1:51.high. Kerrigan ran the mile 45 mins before his leadoff. Makenzie is a huge talent and ran his leg as his 3rd race in 2 days. He managed to run 2:23.7 running the last 800 in 1:53 holding off Matt Debole of Gtown who is a 2:22, 1:48, and 3:58 guy. Korich stepped up nicely and is now on a new level. To finish it off Sean Tully anchored in 1:48.9 last year at Penn and from what I have heard he had mono last winter/early spring and still ran the time. I also don't even know if this was Nova's "A" team. They have Apwah who finished 4th at Big East less than a second behind Tully and less than 2 seconds behind Gagnon and Rutt (all 1:48 guys). I dont know what the deal is with Chris Williams but he beat Sean Tully in a Mile back in December. If he is healthy he can be thrown in there too with his 1:50 speed from last spring. Also, anyone hear anything about Dan Tully? Maybe even throw Bobby Curtis in there if they dont run the 4xmile?
B)Yes, Nova looks very good but obviously we want to see what everyone can do in April. GTown, LSU, UConn, Arkansas, and Columbia look strong. Of course don't forget Oral Roberts who out leaned Nova 2 years ago in the 4x8 going sub 7:20. There is no doubt in my mind in order to win this year it will take a sub 7:17 performance to win it.
my prediction: There seems to be a lot of Nova fans on here. I am a Stanford fan (can't wait to watch Nova vs Stanford vs Texas in the DMR). But I would have to go with Villanova on this by a hair. I predict the top 4 teams will all be within a second of each other. Dare I say 7:16?
1)Villanova- Deep mid-distance team with the talent to pull this off. Under Marcus' coaching you know they will be rolling at this meet.
2)Lsu- Probabaly the strongest looking team as of now.
3)Arkansas- Beat Nova at Milrose
4)UConn- Looking real good. 2 huge legs in Gagnon and Rutt. I will be watching this team for the upset.
5)Gtown- Debole 1:48, Bean 1:50, Maloy 1:50, Bumbi 1:50. This team probabaly has 7 guys who can go 1:51 or faster.
6) Tennessee- They always find a way to suprise in the 4x8 at Penn. They seem to always been in the mix at the end.
7)Columbia- Repeat? I don't think so. But I do think they will run faster than last year.
I dont know where Oral Roberts fits but they too are always up there.
How about the high school 4 x 800 and DMR? Who are the favorites?
oral roberts only has shaun smith.. their #2 and #3 guys are both 154i.. im not even sure what their 4th guy runs.. although im sure andretti bain could crank out a good 800
who cares?
DMR? Who are the favorites?
Whichever crappy team has a 4:10 anchor.
Uh oh.. Nova gets three guys to run pretty quick at Notre Dame today. Apwah at 1:50.05 and then Korich and Tully both hit 1:49.
You gotta think they would be in good shape with McKenzie as their 4th leg.
