The 5th and final season is not yet over, and while it is not as strong as previous seasons, I think this is the best TV series I have ever watched.

definitely.
Agreed.
The fifth season is starting to come together, but it seems a little less tight than previous seasons.
I think season two is my favorite.
Definitely one of the best series ever- okay, I'll jump on the bandwagon and say it's the best. It'll never be the most popular because 90% of the American public has been too dumbed down by their mindless jobs and mass media to pay attention and understand the plot, but yeah, it's probably the best.
Best ever. No debate.
Although Omar's escape from the 4th floor apartment bordered on unrealistic.
No, Ninja Warrior.
No freakin' way!
The best series ever was The A-Team!
The best episode was when there were these bad guys and The A-Team decided to weld pieces of metal onto their van to make it like a tank, and then they stormed the henchmen's hideout at a warehouse and rained bullets down on everyone, but no one was even hurt let alone killed. The bad guys surrendered and the government showed up just a second too late to capture them. Oh, and then at the end they fooled B.A. into knocking himself out so that they could get him on a plane (because he's afraid to fly).
Man that was the best episode from that series ever.
If you like the Wire, check out Homicide: Life on the Streets. It was a series created by the guy behind the Wire. Similar to the Wire, it is a cop drama that takes place in Baltimore. Apparently, the creator of both shows is a former Baltimore Police Officer and newspaper reporter (unless I am confusing two different people), so he obviously has the right experience.
Homicide is my favorite tv drama of all time, but I have yet to see more than 1 full season of the Wire (which I thought was excellent). I need to rent some of the DVDs!

I dont think so. Its not like he was unhurt. He did break his leg. I love where this season is going. "I gave them 2 bodies and they want More?"

I think it was unrealistic because the day after they showed him in agonizing pain in the janitor's closet, he was out terrozing Marlo's people. He went from limping around on a makeshift crutch to taking down a crew of 4 and lighting a truck on fire.
That was just a little stretch. But all in all, this season is pretty good.
I was into the Wire but now no HBO. From the talk of Omar they're still in the streets, what's this year's plot? Inner city drugs, then the shipping industry, then the schools, what's the latest line?
this year's theme is the media
they're focusing on the baltimore sun and staff trying to do more with less
there's a "serial killer" in baltimore
satch"s life story
I love this show!!
I started watching at the beginning of season 4, then watched season 3. Season 5 is awesome!!
The plot is much more developed than a lot of the other stuff on TV. It has a nice mix of plot lines as well, and its always interesting how they meet.

I used to watch Homicide back when it was on NBC, and now thanks to Tivo, I get to watch the reruns that are on WGN. It's funny you mention Homicide because they make a reference to it in season 5 of the Wire. Notice one of the bars the cops occasionally hang out in? It is the same as in Homicide. Also, Detective Munch makes a cameo.
Seinfeld
The correct answer is Hill Street Blues.
I would also agree that this show is one of the best. Characters like McNulty, Bunk, Omar are perfectly done. After growing up in a life of crime, I find the shoW very realistic. GOT TO LOVE A REUP!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont have cable but so far the third season is my favorite.
The Wire is without a doubt the best cop show ever on TV. Not sure it is the best show ever but it is in my top 10. In no particular order I would go: Seinfeld, Cheers, Hill Street Blues, The Wire, NYPD Blue (especially the 1st season, David Caruso's John Kelly was such a great character)Miami Vice, MASH, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sopranos and Oz.
