I didn’t mention the Armada - what I did say was that a single American carrier fleet these days packs more punch than the whole of the British surface fleet.
From Trafalgar in 1805 to the 1914-18 war, the British fleet ruled the waves and is generally acknowledged to have been instrumental in ensuring that that period in history was the least violent compared to other epochs.
The US navy has had a similar superiority since 45, but I’m afraid the US has squandered the advantages such a dominance should produce.

How has the U.S. squandered the advantages such a dominance should produce? No navy has a chance against the U.S.. But even it what you were saying was true it wouldn't really matter anyway. Our airforce is so powerful we could destroy any attack by sea.
