can anyone answer the following questions for me:
1) open women...running in the "community/open" race, will they run 10k?
2) what is the course like? any pointers?

I may be way off the mark here because I have not run the Chile Pepper since about 97 or 98 and it may have changed. If it's the same course, expect it to be pretty fast despite the first mile being slightly up hill. The course runs through a vineyard and was rolled so the footing was excellent. There were a number of wooden barriers placed around the course, but they were wide enough to step on so did not provide too much of a problem. I remember the 3rd mile being very fast. Good luck.
