I just started running about four months ago and have built my miles up to 60-70 a week. Just before getting into the 60 range, I was tired and crashing in the middle of the day and going to bed very early at night. Recently, within the last three weeks (in 60 mile range)I have tremendous energy, stay up later and wake up earlier, ready to go. The only change I have made within the last few weeks is that I started eating about a half cup of yogurt with plain granola mixed in after each run (10:00 a.m.). Has yogurt and/or granola ever been used as a recovery or boosting meal? Any opinions or research?
