Leonard Mucheru, the Kenyan who won the marathon
representing Bahrain last year, which led to his
losing his Bahraini citizinship, returned to Kenya,
finally regained his Kenyan citizinship, and today
won the Tiberias marathon in a course (and personal)
record time of 2:10:30.
For breaking the course record (was 2:12:45) he earns $40,000.
leonard mucheru has great range 333 for 1500, 349 for a mile 735 for 3k 1259 for 5k, and now the marathon.
Looks like he made the right decision to go back to Kenya - more freedom. The runners who go to Bahrein/Qatar are really selling their freedom and souls, and the promise of $1000 for life, won't be so good in 10 years time, when $1000 will be more like $500 or so.
