Over the weekend I was making a tackle. It wasn't exactly a form tackle. I dragged the person down. I was behind them pulling them down. My knees were bent. When they came down on top of me, I felt a moment of intense pain in my knee. I couldn't walk for about 5 minutes. Then the pain became more of a dull ache.
I was able to walk after a few minutes but noticed that after I sat down, when I stood up my knee hurt. Anything that bent my knee to around 90 degrees caused pain.
I went to the ER to have a physical exam. The ER doctor said it is either (1) a partially torn PCL, (2) a torn lateral (outside of the knee) meniscus, (3) a strain of the tendon that attaches the hamstring to the knee.
Now it has been about a week. I've been riding the exercise bike every day. I am now able to walk more or less without a major limp, but my knee still has an odd feeling in the back of it. I can bend my knee to 90 degrees but I don't think I can put weight on it in a bent position.
Has anyone else had something like this? I have an appointment with a sports orthopedist, but it isin't for another week because it takes forever to get in to see anyone, even with an ER referral.
