It is actually not that uncommon. Pernicious anemia is a deficiency in Vit B12 that is mostly caused by the inability of the body to absorb Vit B12. Injections of B12 bypass the gut and allow for the body to absorb and therefore use B12.

Currently having a series of 3 b-12 injections over 3 weeks. Am not a drug cheat. Blood test showed they were required. However I do believe Gatlin is a cheater but not because of the b-12.
I don't know why, but a lot of steroid users take B-12 injections as part of the regimen.
