Kip Kangango was about 10 seconds ahead of Boaz at the finish, ran something like 2:36 for the last kilo. Both broke the previous course record.

How fast was the course?
oh yeah, and Boaz has only been training since mid-August, he took most of the summer off to recover from stress fractures.
Let the excuses roll! Sounds similar to all the Kimani boys last fall.

Go Canada!
Like this Kip guy is really Canadian.
Get some 'real' Canadians to step up like we do in the US.
Looks Kenyan to me.
The course record was 23:59. Teg only ran a 24:30 or something like that last year. He didnt go under 24 last year, thats for sure. I can't remember who they said has the course record.. It didnt seem like Boaz was up to his normal self, he just didnt bury the rest of the field like he usually does, and there was a surprisingly large pack still with him at the 1 kilo mark.
Is Kangogo Canadian yet? Well, he did run at our national championships (finishing second). And he joins a proud list of real Canadians, like sprinters Donovan Bailey (Jamaican) and Bruny Surin (Haitian), our top 800m runner Achraf Tadili (Moroccan), our top female 800 m runner Diane Cummins (South African), and high jumpers Mark Boswell (Jamaican) and Kwaku Boateng (Ghanaian). Most of these are Canadian record-holders, and no one is lobbying for a separate category for "real" Canadians.
Actually Tegenkamp ran 23:58 at Griak last year.
