One of the top "local" participants.
61 is Ojima from Asahi Kasei. I think he went to Atlanta Olympics??? He has a twin brother who also ran 2:09. They both look alike... ;o)
Matsumiya, #25, is also in the lead pack! He also has a twin brother who ran 5000 at Osaka WC. His PR for 5000 is 13:12. I can't remember which one (I think not the one who's running) is the former world record holder for 30k.
1:03:29 half
There are now 18 in the lead pack. 15~20 is 15:05. What a beautiful even-paced run!
Takaoka has dropped form the lead pack also 127
Poor Takaoka... 127 is Maeda of Konika, the same team Matsumiya runs for (blue and white striped singlet???).
Nobby.
Here in the US. How can I get the same info that you're picking up
You can try this site; you should get a map of the course. Each 5k point that comes out in yellow has the official split times of the top 10.
...and here's the list of runners and their bib#. All in Japanese though.
10 in the lead pack 1:15:03 25K
25k should be coming up in a cuople of minutes...???
English equivalent of entry lists
Oh, sorry! Too late...!
Many thanks Nobby. Good on yer.
#23 is in the lead pack Aburaya and #126
A little after 30k is the turn-around point. Often someone takes off right before this point. If Wanjiru is feeling damn good, he might take off??? If he does, I'll bet Sato will follow and Aburaya will stay back and slowly peg them back... How does Sato look?
It is hard to see him clearly. I will pick Wanjiru to win. I think he is going to sit and sick the last few K
Matsumiya, Yuko is looking good too.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
