That's what will happen, but I don't think they're a top 10 team. Missouri beat them head to head. Missouri also doesn't have inexcusable losses like the Iowa loss or the Michigan loss.

First of all, props to OU for scheming Missouri so well. The only team not only to beat them, but to shut them down. Sadly, Missouri will probably not even get a BCS bid, what with Kansas only dropping to #5 despite losing to Mizzou. I can't remember the last time a conference championship game hasn't factored in a big way in the BCS outcome. I can't stand the lack of parity. Teams basically get rewarded by not having to play it.
This outcome is precisely why a playoff is so desperately needed in college football. LSU probably gets the bid over Georgia, though I think Georgia's a better team. So, in all likelihood, OSU gets a rematch with the SEC after all. Hmmm.
haha not wvu.... those fagotts big east is the worst conference. Im so happy

Yeah, they EARNED their way the last few weeks sitting on their asses. They completely backed their way into the title game as a result of losses by LSU, Kansas, West Virginia, and Missouri. The Big 10, Pac-10, and Big East need to add title games so that pussy teams like OSU can't move up 6 places in the standings without playing a game.
How can they. The BCS is a sham. Media profits control the BCS. They pick weak schools just because they are alma maters. The weak SEC, Big 10, and Big 12 get chosen over the other conferences even though the play has become mediocre in the last 20 years because of TV ratings. The BCS stands for Beauty Contest System !

Sagarin, it is very possible that LSU gets picked to play Ohio State for the national championship, and if so, then that's two years in a row that a conference championship game win vaulted a team to the title game. Just becasue the team you thought was the best couldn't cut the mustard doesn't mean a championship game is a bad thing.
Real men NEVER cry that something is unfair.
hey, flags,
when LSU absolutely destroys Ohio State will you be saying thats unfair then?
then you'll want either Georgia or Vtech to have played in the title game so Ohio could have beaten them. cry baby.
I can see it happenin' flag your such a fraud.

That's total BS brother. The Buckeyes had played more games early on. They all count. LSU lost their second game BEFORE the SEC title game, so you can't even blame it on that, and Kansas also lost during the regular season, and same with West Virginia. Not the Buckeye's fault that they had already played their games. The ONLY team that MIGHT have an argument is Missouri since they were #1 after playing the same number of games as the Buckeyes but then they had to play one more game, but even so, if Missouri had won the Buckeyes still would have been #2 and would be in that title game.
Buckeyes didn't back into anyting. They won their last game unlike WVU and Kansas, and they don't have two losses like LSU (and LSU might make the title game anyway). Buckeyes have earned the top spot to this point.
After the Buckeyes lost to Illinois in the second to last game of the season, there were 6 teams ahead of them that were in charge of their own destiny. At that point the Buckeyes had played more games than all of them, and they needed to play more games to catch up. They lost those games. Buckeyes did what they had to do to be in this title game. You might not like it, but they deserve it.
who will care?

Dude, I NEVER copmplain after a Buckeye loss, and ONLY gave Florida MAJOR props for their win last year. If LSU gets the shot at OSU and beats them, then I will give them all props they deserve, and I will do so even if there are controversial calls their way or the Buckeyes have key injuries, etc. I always maintain that the best team wins ALWAYS.
LSU very well might win against the Buckeyes. Anything can happen. I think OSU is better, but we'll have to see if they get to play them. The game ALWAYS removes all doubts. After all the smack from SEC fans though, you can bet that if Ohio State beats LSU in the title game that I will crow loudly.

Sagarin, OU didn't just "scheme" Missouri. It wasn't a system or intellectual thing. OU flat out laid the wood to Missouri. Just pure physical dominance evident in that second half. With beating them twice, there's no doubt between those two team who the better team is. Missouri got POUNDED.
What a totally insane season!
I hate both teams but Ohio State vs. LSU could be pretty entertaining.
You better be picking Ohio State to win big Flagpole. You have been calling LSU pitiful for awhile now.
Who would be the favorite in Vegas for this one?

You can be such a disingenuous and non-humble schmuck Flagpole. Guess what, that same conference championship that ALLOWS teams to vault into the championship game also eliminates teams from the champiosnhip game (see Mizzou). You can't have it both ways. Besides, we don't yet know if LSU is in. If the pollsters took the same approach as they did letting OSU backpedal into the final game by not having to play, then they should consider Georgia. Oh, and nobody's complaining, except you saying that "It's not OSU's fault that Washington isn't any good this year," when Washington has sucked for several years now. There is a real lack of parity in college football right now. You're just not man enough to man up to it, because, as it stands, OSU gets to take advantage of the system more than any other team.
OSU backs in to the title game, and there's Flagpole, the self-promoting paragon of principle and humility and conviction shooting his mouth off and acting like the child he is, unable to contain his schoolboy enthusiasm and show some class.
Geee, typical rabid, classless OSU fan, did I not say that OU was the "only team not only to beat them, but to shut them down?" Nice omission to make your point though.
Ohio State fans are up there, almost Raider-like. They're pretty bad. If I could even find one of them that isn't a complete neo-nazi, anti-semitic pedophile, I would be shocked.
Shocked.
but they do keep their hair cut. Sometimes all the way to the skin. I guess you could call them skin heads. Eh, flagpole, eh?

Sagarin, this applies to any team selected for the BCS title game this year? Why single out OSU as "backing in"? Isn't that what LSU did, too? Or what USC would have done, had they been selected? Or V-Tech? Or Oklahoma?
Everyone backed into everything this year. Don't single out OSU just cuz you got some beef with Flaggy.
By the way, OSU 31, LSU 21.
Game, set, match. OSU exorcises the SEC demons.

Nope, LSU won the most important game on their schedule on the grand stage. LSU went 2-0 against the top ten, which is precisely two more games than OSU played against the top ten. LSU had the second best record against the top 30 of all the top ten teams, and they played twice as many top 30 teams as OSU. LSU blew out the CURRENT #5 team in the nation that many people thought should have gotten the nod 48-7 (yes, of course we KNOW the result would be different if they played again). In summary, LSU has done plenty to deserve their shot.
Now, if OSU had even beaten one legitimate team, if they had beaten, oh, let's say Auburn instead of Kent State, then I WOULD be in your corner. See, this is where you guys fail to see the big picture. I may be abrasive and I may be arrogant, but I am at least not disingenous. Last yeat, I was an OSU supporter, not because I liked them, God forbid, but because I thought they had done enough to get to the title game. Last year, my beef was with SEC fans because I hadn't seen any SIGNIFICANT nonconference victories. I went against Sagarin, which never pays because he had Florida playing a much, much tougher schedule than OSU last year. Just like LSU this year, which is why this whole thing wreaks of dejavu and why Flagpole will think twice this year before he picks OSU to win by "at least 11 points." Oh, and LSU does have that glaring blowout of top five Va. Tech this year.
If OSU somehow beats a presumed LSU (we don't know yet if that's the matchup, but you'd better hope not because you'd much rather play Va Tech or KU -- trust me) this year, then, yes you can make your case. Oh, and I don't have any beef with Flagpole, though I am losing respect for him by the minute. The guy accuses me of putting words in his mouth, I go back and find some evidence, but admit it was not as strong as I thought, then the guy accuses me of saying shit like OU-USC should be in the final, kind of like how he accused me of saying that LeBron James SHOULD WEAR a Cleveland Indians hat when I NEVER said such a thing (only that LeBron was classless in wearing a Yankee hat at Cleveland Stadium). And, of course, Flagpole repeats it for everyone to see, despite being flat out told by myself and at least one other person that that is not what I said, but he fails to make a concession or apologize. Should I go on with some more examples? Definition of a hypocrite.
Anyway Ohio Rulz. I have to give you some credit. You are about the only OSU fan on here in the wake of last night's games not immediatley mouthing off, not uttering tasteless platitudes, and not basically acting like the classless fan that most OSU fans are. Bravo, even though I think you are really a born-again Dauby.

LSU is going to RAPE Ohio State. Its not even going to be a close game. Ohio State had a chance with Georgia or Vtech. Sorry fagpole, guess theres always next year.
hey maybe your stocks will go up.
