i don't bandit, but sometimes i wish i did. there are some piece of shit races out there charging $25-$30. the course may be off, the prizes suck, etc. even if it's a good race, they're pretty expensive nowadays. and throwing in an ugly shirt doesn't make things any better. i always enter, though, just so it'll be "official." that's not important to everyone, so who cares?
so what if someone bandits? you make the decision whether or not to pay the entry fee and everyone else should be able to do the same. people get all bent out of shape and start with the personal attacks over bullshit on this board. it cracks me up.
so, based on your logic, everyone should bandit. i mean, who really wants to cough up the money (normally about 12-15 if you register early btw) just for a single race?
hey, think about it this way. if you and everyone else were to bandit the race, the race directors arent able to cover their expenses. what happens next? no f***ing races!
people who bandit have no respect for anyone elses work. they have no idea how much time and effort goes into putting on just a single race, even is just 100 people show up. it takes hours and hours to get one together, finding other sponsors, getting the t shirts ready, marking the course, advertising. if you or anyone else think its easy to put a race on, you should be shot. seriously.
and if you find a race that is too expensive or isnt put on well, theres a simple solution. talk to the race director and let them know your thoughts. if it doesnt get any better, take your business away from them and dont enter BUT DONT RUN THE COURSE AS A BANDIT.
ok, im done ranting. for now.
