Do any elites wear shirts with sleeves? What's the time cutoff...better than 2:30 you wear a singlet?

No, I'm slower than crap, and have worn a singlet in all of my marathons.
who wears a long sleeved shirt? ,or a cotton T-Shirt or whatever, most runners wear singlets until it's below about 10C,then a short sleeved performance garment until about 5C after that a long sleeved technical fabric garment, runners do not wear logging shirts to run, they don't usually wear baggy beach shorts either, it's one of the great distinguishing marks between guys and gals who are serious about their running and the running tourists.
I didn't make it clear...I didn't mean long sleeve shirts, I meant short sleeve shirts. If you look at a marathon, it seems 95 percent of runners wear a short sleeved, techno shirt. Only the guys up front wear a singlet. I was just wondering why more runners don't. I guess the elite guys wear them because they are cooler (temp wise and style wise?).
maybe, then again perhaps there are just plenty of moronic hicks who can't be bothered to get the right gear for each occasion. How many do you see wearing cotton T-Shirts and then complaining because it's too hot or they get dehydrated?
How about all the joggers who race in the t-shirt for the race their currently running?
well for a 10K or when it's not too hot that may be OK, sad but OK, but i've seen some videos of the Chicago 2007 and there are people wearing cotton shirts and stuff.Cotton holds onto water and stop the air cooling you down; everybody knows that, it's probably written into the ace tips somewhere.
Faster running generates more heat than slower running.
I would guess there's a difference because singlets cost extra money and aren't useful to own except when you're racing. If people aren't super serious about their racing then they probably aren't too concerned about racing in something besides the comfortable shirt that they already own and train in regularly.
Who wants to wear a shirt, anyway? Bare chested is the way to go. Except in winter.

Exactly! I hang my bib number from my nipple rings!
I see plenty of mid-packers wearing sleeveless training tops. Real singlets are rare outside of the faster ranks.
ah...the typical letsrun thread
what do not running clubs enforce wearing the official singlet??

I don't put a shirt on till it gets below 20 degrees. Even then, it's just a cotton undershirt. Pre never wore much and he went for it dude.
Could those joggers kill a singlet with a knife, though? That may be why they wear t-shirts.
Bingo. This is the answer. No need for further discussion.
