So, in looking at the results for the women's white race, Colorado and BYU tied for 6th with 231 points... so why was Colorado listed first if BYU's sixth runner was way ahead of Colorado's? Isn't the sixth runner the tie breaker???

NOPE.
First, by NCAA rule....ties not broken during regular season.
Second, the NCAA tie-breaker is to compare the top 5 runners head to head (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3vs 3, 4 vs 4, 5 vs 5).

Ties aren't broken and aren't to be shown as broken on official results. Any tie breaking that's necessary to advance to nationals will be done by the selection committee and that would go to Colorado by virtue of winning most of the head-to-heads in this race.
