I know it's stereotypical for distance runners to dismiss/denigrate sprinting, but I have to admit I agree with this article insofar as it plays up the dullness of the 100m. It's not that Powell particularly isn't compelling, I just don't care about the event at all. As the article says, in what other running event could the WR be broken in a prelim?
Doesn't a sporting event need to last longer than 10 seconds to build some drama and reward your interest?
Or is that what she said?
