So how was it? Was the course the same as last year?... looks like Scotty Bauhs ripped the course apart today! Effin 23:07. Good job by Rono as well and it looks like the Cal men are coming together with a good team.

go cal.
& get a good 5th man.
scored through their 4 first finishers, stanford barely had the edge on cal 25-26, but stanford's 5th man came in at 12th place and cal's 5th man came in at 40th place. however, stanford had a lot of other runners ahead of cal runners who were not scoring for the team.
Cal held out a "secret" weapon that would have been in their Top 5. The Bears looks SOLID.

Stanford had thirteen guys (counting unattached freshmen) in front of Cal's fifth man yesterday.
is their 'secret' weapon steve sodaro or eric lee or both?
... and Stanford also didn't have Garrett Heath running. If he's healthy, that's another in front of their fifth - probably another in front of their second.
Probably some guy named Kari Karlsson who transferred in from Reykavik University that has run some decent times on the track. His best that I could find is 14:20 over 5k and 30:30 over 10k. He ran at the U23 Euro champs but was close to the back. Good, but not great. However, he's about the only weapon left, and I don't think that will be enough to topple Stanford at Pac-10s or Regionals or Nationals. However, Cal looks like a strong contender for third again.
yeah, cal still looks stronger than in the past. the west regional has got to be one of the most competitive regions. the pac-10 alone is probably the most competitive conference. in the west region, we have
