Before practice this morning I had a parent come a tell me that her kid was not able to train for at least 2 months. He was been dealing with some soreness in his shins for a while (new to running etc). I ask if he saw a doctor and she tells me that he sees a chiropractor internist....he thinks that "his adrenals are shot." I questioned it the medical sense that makes. So long story short, "he will be great in about two months." I told her that I have coached a lot of runners and shin problems are very common, but she was not hearing any of it.....
She also said that he was able to manage this "problem" in the summer because he could go home and sleep all day. Now that we are in school, he is no longer able to cope.
just thought I would share.
