i just find it amusing that on a thread discussing college education we've got people who can't spell a simple word like fahrenheit. too much time is wasted worrying about whether people coming out of college are "indoctrinated" and not enough on whether the people coming out of college actually have basic skills. as an employer, i give two shits whether someone is a communist. what pisses me off is when someone with a BA can't spell.
People who can't spell shouldn't piss you off. It's a skill of the past. Spell checkers have rendered it obsolete. People that don't use spell checkers piss me off though, but even that is becoming a thing of that past. With all this text message, shorthand crap, people are realizing that if you can communicate clearly, spelling doesn't matter. Communicating fast and efficiently does. We're on an anonymous message board. It's not like we're writing material for publication.
On the original topic, if there is any indoctrination going on, it's in the churches. It's a societal norm to take your kids to church and indoctrinate them in the bullsh!t at a young age. Crazy!
