I apologize. I should have said something like:
"I haven't bought shoes yet" - meaning I haven't purchased any thing other than the Marathoners, and I'm leery about wearing them.
I did not type what I meant to say.
That is why people slammed you. Now I will grant you that they did it in the usual, nasty, letsrun style but it did not come out of nowhere.
Now - I know you will not offer me any help because you have been made angry, so you have no further reason to return to this thread. Actually this thread has no reason to continue.
I can only expect more vitriol though.
You never received any "vitriol" from me in the first place. Go back and read what I wrote. You flipped out at the standard nasty letsrun responses, not realizing you had typed the wrong thing in your original post. Now nobody deserves that nastiness that goes on here but everyone gets it and a message like yours is going to get quite a bit. Had you ACTUALLY not gotten your shoes as close as 3 weeks before you must admit that would be pretty foolish.
I would be glad to help you. The problem is that, as I already said in my first post, I have nothing to offer beyond what real advice has already been given. You've already received the correct answer: Your best shot is to run it in the training shoes you've been using. If you are going to use flats no matter what, at LEAST get them right away and do your remaining longer runs in them.
