He can still do that. But not as PA left nipple! :)

I like it.
And I like the idea of breaking the message board into subdivisions. Sure, keep the main board, but I think starting boards dealing with training, injuries, etc would be a great addition to Letsrun.
If people really want to post info without others knowing, they could always create a second account with a different email address. I've seen it done on other forums all the time.
Even better, make there be a waiting period between the time you register and the time you are allowed to post. Say a few hours. That would blow away any porn-link posters. And it would keep away the "hit-and-run" people as well.
One name and ONE NAME ONLY!!!! I detest those miscreants who use more than one name. COWARDS.
promise not to ban for quality trolling?
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wejo, why don't you just commit professional suicide while you are at it. The whole color, life, verve, spontaneity of this site will dry up and blow away like an Oklahoma dustbowl.
The number of postings will drop by 2/3rds GUARANTEED.
As someone else said - don't fix what isn't broken.
As long as the good trolls get to stay, registration is okay.
full registration only--not some namby-pamby two-tiered system designed to make everybody happy. The only good thing is that wejo seems to realize the board has been slipping since Portland Runner packed up and left. When was that? 2003?
Has the true identity of "430Miler" been revealed?

My idea is you would have to register and login to post but then could post under another name after you logged in.
So I'm wejo. I login in as wejo. Then I can post under Wejo or any other name. I see that people have reasons for wanting to post some info without their name getting out.
>>>I even do it from time to time as well.<<<
don't change the board at all! don't add topics and don't require registration.
yes, there is a lot of crap out there but for every piece of garbage there is 1)someone who will dispute the garbage and 2) 2x as many great posts that may not have been posted if anonymonity wasn't pretty much guaranteed.
You obviously haven't had someone hounding you for 1-2 years, under various handles.

Since Paula Radcliffe and Mrs. Culpepper have been posters on letsrun in the past (albeit briefly) . . . in a registration-protected one-name-only format, a forum where elites could post and interact with non-elites and interested fans without having to worry about some disenfranchised DyeStat kid making moronic comments would be great. If you ever listed all the great runners and coaches who have been chased away from here because your focus seems to encourage morons to be even more moronic, I'm sure that would be quite a "who's who" list. Maybe it's time to mend a few bridges, wejo.
I think it is a great idea. Affords a basic level of policing which should get rid of some of the ridiculous stuff, while enabling people to post under different screens if they so choose.
wejo,I posted on the other thread that the common board remain free to all names be it registered or not but the sub boards be restricted to only registered posters. The thread remains on the commonboard for anyname posting but on the, let's say, running lifestlye subboard only registered names can post- a non registered post that is good can be cut and pasted from the common, open form by a registered poster so the 'insiders' board would not lose quality posts.
Again I caution REMEMBER NEW COKE!!
Flagpole Willy should have a special board that only he can post on and read.

This is a good idea.
I'm for your original registration idea, wejo.
Do it.
