don't bother arguing with CH or the other guy
what is the point, i'm not sure why they would be upset over someone using one... who cares
it isn't in the same category as a fanny pack, a GPS or HRM provides feedback, it provides information
so even if you don't look at it while training, you record info after running... one of two things happens
1) it doesn't change how you run, you ignore the data
2) you learn from the data and incorporate into how you train, you learn about what works and what doesn't
you can be no worse off, if someone feels they don't want one, good for you, if you feel a watch on your hand is a shackle, ok but why the hell would you spend time arguing with someone who has found it has helped them
the one guy ran for twenty some odd years, i think he has experience both ways
and as for HRM, maybe someone has a better idea... do elites generally train with HRM's?, not that they pay attention to it but their coaches use the information...
it was my understanding that some of them do, maybe not?
