I have XM and have cut my television viewing to sports and selected Tivo'd events. Have some friends with Sirius and think Sirius has better music. I chose XM for the baseball package, i follow an out-of-town team.
I have XM as well. It was a great marketing strategy to give it to you free for 3 months. With the exception of a 20-minute segment on a sports talk radio show each morning and a Saturday night oldies country program, I rarely listen to regular radio anymore.
My commute is about an hour each way. I don't give a crap about some dj's dog or kid; I want to hear music so that I can zone out. I used to listen to a radio while running in the early morning. I got sick of flipping through 12 stations in a vain attempt of finding one playing a song.
I used to listen to Howard Stern when he was on the regular airwaves. Admittedly, I gave up because it was the same bits over and over with different characters.
